Summary of the Position

This is a non-supervisory position responsible to Plan, implement, and coordinate the policies and procedures surrounding the Environment, Health and Safety of the USP India facility and the personnel.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Manager in Implementing Environment, Health and Safety systems and practices.

• Assist Senior Manager in Day to Day activities for all the sites of USP India.

• Visiting all USP India Sites(Units) at regular intervals and identify the unsafe acts and conditions.

• Assist Senior Manager in developing local policies with respect to EHS and ensure compliance with all approved company SOP’s.

• Plan safety promotional activities to create safety consciousness and improve awareness.

• Evaluate and provide appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) for the specific operations and ensure they are maintained well.

• Ensure that all Near Misses and Incidents are reported and complete investigation is done with appropriate Corrective and Preventive actions (CAPA) and the lessons are shared across.

• Ensure health, welfare, emergency and rehabilitation services are available.

• Conduct EHS internal observations and audits, mock drills facilitate external audits and initiate appropriate actions, improvements as per the recommendations.

• Monitor and maintain Occupational Health Center and Ambulance.

• Ensure daily, weekly and monthly EHS parameters and record same in appropriate forms/records.

• Ensure Fire detection and protection systems (FAS,FHS) operational all the time.

• Ensure all the Environmental monitoring, reports submission to state pollution control board is done as per the schedule.

• Increasing Employee EHS Awareness/Training through regular trainings.

• Ensure that accidents or near misses are quickly and competently investigated with employee involvement, documented, and that necessary steps are promptly taken to prevent a recurrence.

• Conducting EHS Internal Audits, mock drills, facilitate external audits and initiate appropriate actions, improvements as per the recommendations.

• Dispose the hazardous and non-hazardous waste to authorized vendors.

• Co-ordinate with waste disposal officers for disposal of generated waste and monitor hazardous waste storage room.

• Interaction with Global EHS Team as necessary.

Basic Qualifications.

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Environment sciences or Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering.

• Minimum of 6-9 years of experience in the field.

• Prior experience in a scientific/chemical based industry.

• Must have experience in a similar industry

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Environment sciences or Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering.

• Prior experience in a scientific based industry.

• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
