The U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) is a scientific nonprofit organization that sets standards for the identity, strength, quality, and purity of medicines, food ingredients, and dietary supplements manufactured, distributed and consumed worldwide. USP’s drug standards are enforceable in the United States by the Food and Drug Administration, and these standards are used in more than 140 countries.
This position involves in Logistics, Trade Compliance and Procurement activities for USP India site. The overall objective of the role is to execute export, import and trade compliance function including logistics, customs, DGFT, CDSCO interactions and with other government agencies like port drug office, AQCS and PNQ offices which get involve in EXIM clearance at Indian customs. Candidate should be well versed with logistics and customs clearance documentation process. Candidate will have frequent contact with Customs house agents (Clearing agents), freight forwards, courier companies for international and domestic shipment tracking.
This position is also responsible for procurement of Lab Instruments / Equipment’s, APIs, Intermediates, Chemicals, Columns, Glassware, laboratory consumables etc., for USP India site. Responsible for vendor development and vendor management. Assist with Internal and third-party audit requirements and fulfilments. Goods & services certified Invoices submission to F & A for payment process. MIS generation, dashboards for leadership, Organizing and maintain Procurement, Logistics and trade compliance documents as per SOP/ Audit compliance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Trade Compliance and Logistics: -
Handle end to end logistics for domestics and international shipments tracking, customs clearance, documentation and delivery to sites.
Minimize overhead cost on customs clearance, export and import, and identify any overhead cost incurred accidentally.
Process customs duty payments and other bills whichever applicable in logistics, Trade and Procurements activities.
Handle all trade licenses involved in Export import process and ensure proper record-keeping.
Monitor and comply all compliances related to trade licenses.
Be up to date with trade policy and implication to USP.
Visit Govt offices for any queries, clarifications or submissions.
Update shipment clearance tracker, Test license tracker and dashboard.
Prepare monthly report for IGST input credit.
Collaborates with Manager, Global Trade Compliance US regarding trade compliance functional program
Develops, maintains and updates, as required, import /export related policies, procedures and best practice standards to comply with all applicable Indian import/export regulations and government agency requirements.
Assist Trade compliance manager for Trade compliance strategy, training, audits.
Procurement of Laboratory Chemicals, APIs, Intermediates, Impurities, Columns, Glassware, Lab Consumables from Domestic and International market.
Procurement of Laboratory Instruments/Equipment’s from domestic and International market.
Expedite material deliveries and follow-ups with vendors / service providers.
Identification of potential /alternate sources for required goods from the domestic as well as overseas market.
Prepare and submit periodic MIS and any other ad-hock logistics and Procurement reports.
Invoice submissions to Finance & Accounts and follow-up for vendor payments.
Support with audit requirements and fulfilments.
Should have knowledge in trade documentation, logistics documents, DGFT policies and procedures, customs process, customs duties, duty exemptions and notification application. Should have additional knowledge of classifying (Customs tariff codes) HSN Codes.
Should have thorough knowledge of SCM functions General Purchasing and Logistics exposure (Indigenous and Overseas)
She/he should have proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Access).
post graduate from Recognized University/Institute in logistics or international business or export import with experience of 6+ yrs. in supply chain / export import / logistics / trade compliance.
Experience in Pharma sector is must/desirable.
