Summary of the Position

This is a professional hands-on IT position in which the incumbent will be responsible for designing and developing solutions with technical expertise in data warehouse design and ETL (ODI). The incumbent designs and develops enterprise data warehouse (EDW), ETL, and business intelligence systems on OBIEE. He/she ensures to complete assigned tasks on schedule with high quality for internally and externally facing applications ranging in complexity to support USP’s priorities and mission.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for design, development, customizations, deployment and post-implementation support for ODI, and ETL solutions

  • Provide expertise in performing application development, configuration and unit testing of data integration (using ODI, PL/SQL, SQL), and Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE) applications.

  • Work closely with business stakeholders and database administrators to plan, design, develop and implement applications, scripts, procedures and metadata for relational databases.

  • Responsible for performing analysis, design, development, testing and performance improvements of complex queries based upon the specific needs of USP

  • Responsible for design & development of mappings, process flows, and ETL scripts

  • Responsible for troubleshooting, debugging, optimizing and performance tuning of data warehouse and ETL(ODI) scripts.

  • Responsible to develop and maintain documentation for ongoing operational activities

  • Perform thorough ETL testing, debugging & troubleshooting ETL mappings to resolve issues

  • Proactively work through service requests with Oracle support as needed

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant field

  • 8+ years of experience in design and development of ODI, ETL, and Data Warehouse solutions with data warehousing (ETL/ODI) experience and knowledge of data modeling and ETL design

Professional Skills to be successful:

  • Data modeling experience using dimensional data modeling, star/snowflake schema, fact and dimension tables, physical and logical data modeling

  • Demonstrated involvement in end-to-end deployments of two of the following: OBIEE Administration, OBIEE repositories, Oracle BI applications, data warehousing preferably in an Oracle environment

  • Supported end-to-end implementation of a minimum two ODI projects

  • Should have good querying skills on Oracle database with ability to understand & debug PL/SQL procedure

  • SQL proficiency with experience in constructing/deconstructing complex reports and queries

  • Experience in performance tuning of mappings

  • Experience in error handling, testing, debugging, troubleshooting skills and migration of objects

  • Experience in managing Files, Oracle DB, XML's through ODI

  • Experience in developing Load Plans, Scheduling Jobs

  • Experience in integrating ODI with multiple Source / Target

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Hyperion Planning and budgeting (PBCS), a plus

  • Functional proficiency on packaged BI Application (Oracle), a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Skilled problem-solver and detail oriented

  • Requires ability to work on assigned tasks independently with limited direction

  • Takes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves results with minimal oversight

  • Must be a team player and work well in a deadline-driven environment with multiple priorities.

  • Able to work flexible hours when needed.
