Brief Job Overview

This is supervisory position responsible for Risk Identification and Management, Regional Travel Monitoring, Incident Response & Management, and the Security of USP personnel in India and regionally. In addition, the applicant must be able to make quick and credible assessments of ongoing or potential risks and be able to make reliable decisions and act upon same based on the information available. A good head for coordination, report and plan writing is essential as is the ability to work and make dependable judgements is essential.

The role requires the ability to work unsupervised with proactiveness and analytical skills being key requirements as the applicant is expected to identify and manage issues and incidents that occur within USP in India and regionally. The applicant will work in close coordination with Global Security and Travel departments (US Based) and be responsible for monitoring USP travelers and global fixed assets (offices) in conjunction with worldwide potential incidents, ongoing incidents, and events. The applicant will also be expected to be responsible for additional risk management support tasks as circumstances require.

Position Description : - Regional Operations

  • Monitoring global USP travel, office, and venues using data provided by outside vendors

  • Analyse, process, identify and act upon potential threats/threats and share alerts with relevant USP staff

  • Triage initial response to regional security and medical incidents based on USP protocols

  • Support Incident Management team response to regional incidents

  • Support Crisis Management team response (US based) to global events

  • Assessing, triaging, and escalating likely or ongoing incidents to Director of Global Security (DGS) and Travel Dept. (US based)

  • Working with outside vendors (such as International SOS) to facilitate medical and security responses

  • Working closely with the DGS and Travel Dept. to standardize security practices and share information.

  • Implement standardized USP travel security protocols emanating from DGS and Travel Dept.

  • Liaise with International SOS (security & medical provider) to support regional incident response

  • Ability to work tracking and communications systems (training provided as necessary)

Position Description : - India Operations

  • Handling day-to-day operations from risk management aspects for all India sites.

  • Assessing, developing, and implementing risk management protocols and timely measuring effectiveness of service deliverables.

  • Coordinate with DGS to ensure the procedures are effective and according to standards desired for.

  • Monitoring movement of staff and assets at all India sites and within India.

  • Close monitoring of expat and domestic visitor movement, employee, and contract staff movement to provide proactive security advice alert and minimize risk.

  • To develop and implement proactive plans and procedures for:

  • Overall security of staff, assets, reputation, and business continuity

  • Incident response and management

  • Business continuity plans and management

  • Security staff and USP staff training cycle

  • Tracking of geo/political/natural disasters/other critical situations to ensure smooth business operations continuity and safety of employees and assets. Also sharing situation reports / updates to relevant stakeholders when applicable.

  • Encourage self-development for practical approach, continuous knowledge gaining through external training & seminars.

  • Networking with other security professionals individually and within organizations (such as ISOS & OSAC) to improve professional and threat knowledge.

Who is USP Looking For?

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of our mission, commitment to excellence through inclusive and equitable behaviors and practices, ability to quickly build credibility with stakeholders, along with the following competencies and experience:

  • Minimum 12 Years of experience in Security field. Prior experience in the analysis, travel tracking tools, travel and risk management is a distinct advantage.

  • Monitoring & Supporting regional USP travel and responding to potential or real-time.

  • Monitoring and analyzing regional security information alerts from various vendors, identifying, reporting, and acting upon potential threats/threats and sharing alerts with USP staff as applicable.

  • Should be familiar with global risk management best practices and travel duty of care

  • Understanding of Incident Management and Business Continuity Planning and ability to make credible assessments based on information available and triage a response using established protocols and experience.

  • Ability to think laterally to solve problems and have the courage to act on their decisions without having to constantly defer to line managers.

  • Able to work flexible hours when needed. In addition to normal business hours serves on the Emergency Response Team to provide 24 hour a day, 7 days a week response to emergency alarm calls and can be available on short notice to support requests during unusual hours, especially early or late in the day during the business week.
