Senior Manager / Manager , Talent Acquisition
This is an active managerial position in which the incumbent is responsible for leading and managing the Talent Acquisition activities with the full cycle recruiting for all positions at USP-India. The incumbent personally handles more senior level searches within USP but may also need to assist in providing supervisory guidance with other positions when necessary. Responsibilities involve partnering with hiring supervisors at all levels of the organization to effectively select top talent to meet the organization’s staffing needs. In addition, the incumbent oversees the initial on-boarding program for new employees, and assures compliance with required employment practice postings and notices. Further, the incumbent works on special initiatives to enhance USP’s talent acquisition ability, and focuses externally in social media, face to face and networking activities to raise the profile of USP as an employer of choice.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Oversees talent acquisition for USP India and partners with leadership as needed, with global talent acquisition partners.
Assures consistency in the full cycle of recruiting and selection process by working closely with the hiring managers to discuss process and strategic approach.
Executes and facilitates the execution of mutually agreed upon recruiting strategies and actively sources candidates.
Evaluates the resumes of prospective candidates and determines degree of skill match; recommends or declines appropriately and forwards qualified candidate resumes to the hiring manager for review.
Oversees the applicant tracking process, assuring that each candidate is tracked from initial resume submittal to hire into the OpenHire applicant tracking system, ensuring data integrity for executive’s metrics.
Collaborates with L&D team to identify the training needs for hiring managers on interview process with a comprehensive candidate evaluation to guarantee consistency across the groups.
Evaluates periodically the Talent Acquisition process, and interfaces with candidates during the recruiting and evaluation process to assure a superb candidate experience.
Coordinates and consults with hiring supervisors in the final selection process.
Confirms that all salary offers involve collaboration with the, HR Business Partner, and the hiring supervisors.
Oversees the departmental monthly metrics program, tracking individual and group metrics on search workload, time to fill, cost of hire, recruiting strategies, source of hire, quality of hire, etc., and integrates those to create a monthly and yearend report.
Manages the master position control program and official organizational charts for the organization.
Represents the organization externally and develops programs and initiatives to raise the organizational profile in the scientific and business talent marketplace.
Identifies processes and practices for continuous improvement and champions appropriate changes as needed.
Be a single point of contact on TA compliance to Audit requirements conducted by internal QA or external consultants.
Provides weekly dashboards and updates to the stakeholders on recruitment statuses and ensures Hiring numbers, requisitions and approvals are in alignment to the Global Head Count Report.
Collaborate with Global teams and empanel to introduce best Practices and processes at USP India Site for Talent Acquisition.
Evaluates various sourcing channels including popular job boards, social networking platforms, employee referral and sourcing partners and deploys best practices for each channel to ensure proper effectiveness of the channels being used
Master’s degree in Human Resources or an advanced degree in the relevant field with a science degree is preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of recruiting experience working with a life sciences organization with a global presence is preferred.
Having SPHR/PHR certification would be a plus.
Should be well-versed with hiring process, preferably experience in filling the Science positions at Leadership and Senior level positions.
Proven knowledge, supervisory experience with an excellent communication and organizing skills is a must.
Adept at creating an outstanding candidate experience and providing consultative guidance to hiring partners.
Ability to partner successfully with all levels of staff within the organization including HR business partners and HR specialists.
Considerable knowledge and understanding of employment practice laws.
Experience or Knowledge in Competency Based Hiring Practices will be an added advantage.
Strong negotiation and excellent presentation skills.
Must demonstrate a sense of urgency and ability to handle multiple projects in a timely manner.
Appreciation for and professional handling of confidential and sensitive information.
Strong customer service attitude, ability to adjust to changing priorities and to exercise sound judgment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
Experience with automated applicant tracking systems (ATS) is required.
