The U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) Developer - Pega in Rockville, Maryland
Summary of the Position
This independent contributor position is responsible for the development and maintenance of USP’s Pega platform. The incumbent works closely with the solution architect, business analysts, business stakeholders and members of the development team.
Roles and Responsibilities
Develops custom solutions within the Pega platform. Defines system architecture landscape, identifies gaps between current and desired end-states, and delivers a comprehensive solution that will enable achievement of the desired business outcomes.
Responsible for partnering with other IT professionals to integrate Pega with different on-premise and cloud-based business systems and integration tools (e.g. Oracle EBS, Salesforce, Oracle databases, REST APIs, ETL, etc.)
Partners with project managers, business teams and other developers on projects to ensure effective collaboration throughout all phases of development, testing and deployment
Utilizes knowledge in database design and system architecture to design and develop software component requirements
Utilizes Agile Development Scrum framework for developing, delivering and sustaining complex projects.
Creates and maintains technical documentation including process documentation, naming and commenting conventions
Executes full lifecycle deployments from development to sandbox production
Carries out unit-testing and defect resolution
Assists with technical design and documentation
Provide post-production support
Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
4 years of experience in Pega configuration and custom development
6 years of experience in application development
Holds or is pursuing Pega CSSA
Demonstrated experience in Version 8.x
Understanding of environment management, release management, rule set & code versioning best practices, and deployment methodologies
Understanding of case management, data modeling, data validation, information exchange, user interface design, security, performance tuning, reporting, and application testing, versioning & deployment within the Pega platform
Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
Strong time management skills and attention to details required.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with minimum supervision.
