Brief Job Overview

The Director, People Operations, Technology & Analytics uses data to shed light on key challenges or opportunities to attract, retain, and develop top talent across global USP. This role requires a deep passion for learning new skills and techniques, a sharp eye for detail, and a talent for looking at data and explaining insights.

This position is responsible for creating a technology strategy for system builds, operations, processes, data flows, and security as it relates to People processes. This position reports to the Chief People Officer. The Director will partner with key stakeholders across the organization to identify business requirements and solutions that meet current and future needs through process, data, and technology and focus on developing and maintaining substantial analytics to help drive business decisions. This position will also consult with Executive leadership regarding dashboards and key performance indicators regarding the organization.

The Director, People Operations, Technology & Analytics is an innovative problem solver, highly experienced with all aspects of HRIS, including system selection and implementation, and ensures service delivery that optimizes business results and contributes to a rich employee experience. This role is responsible for the development, execution and operation of a HR shared service strategy supporting the end-to-end life cycle of an employee. This role will drive initiatives to improve process, standardize delivery, and ensure best-in-class experience.

How will YOU create impact here at USP?

  • Acts as a strategic thought partner and key contributor in defining & executing the next phase of Global People & Culture (GP&C) digital transformation. Partners with business leaders & HR teams to assess business needs and then evolves/reinforces/brings to life relevant people strategies that align to business maturity.

  • Builds strong cross-division relationships and partners that will help to better understand and inform people strategies across all divisions.

  • Plays a key role in managing the HR data and technology portfolio, helping to continue to scale the organization globally through insights, self-service, and company-wide reporting and processes.

  • Develops a strategy to optimize HRIS systems to meet workforce requirements and drive accuracy and insights.

  • Identifies opportunities for automation and reduction of manual processes and partners with teams across Global HR, Finance, and Legal on implementation of solutions.

  • Demonstrates leadership capabilities, both as a leader of staff and as a leader of projects.

  • Leads and develops direct reports who are responsible for implementing and maintaining HR technology tools, maintaining employee data, reporting, and analytics.

  • Responsible for confidential information and critical business processes.

  • Maintains knowledge, trends and developments in data management and HR applications to ensure system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.

  • Using a data-driven mindset and highly effective analytical skills, define & track organizational health & diversity metrics, identify talent & workforce trends, and develop systemic recommendations for action that sets up the organization for success now & in the future.

  • Develops robust reporting and analytics which include designing and building dashboards, metrics, and reporting that support HR programs and decisions; providing insights into internal trends, comparing external best practices and benchmarks; and compiling complex data reports, and summaries requested by leadership and HR staff.

  • Lead large scale, cross-functional HR projects from start to finish including deliverables, resource allocation, cost, schedule, quality and status reporting.

  • Offers technical expertise and insight to support informed decision making, demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for process optimization and manage the identification of technology solutions.

  • Other special projects and duties as assigned.

Who USP is Looking For?

  • Bachelor's degree or in lieu of education possesses equivalent relevant experience

  • 10 years of progressively responsible related experience

  • 5 years of management experience.

Additional Desired Preferences

  • Advanced degree or education such as a Master's degree or advanced certification in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology or Management preferred.

  • Expertise in developing and automating dashboards and key-metrics.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and communicate at all levels of the organization—a true team player.

  • Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • Strong technical skills and an ability to learn technology tools quickly.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as with the team in a dynamically changing environment.

  • Must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks.

  • Ability to build and maintain trust-based relationships with senior leaders.

  • Innovation mindset continually looking for opportunities to improve and increase impact for the business.

  • Ability to establish solid relationships with vendors in support of initiatives; ability to negotiate and manage outside vendors and strategic partners against deliverables.

  • Solid project management skills, including the ability to effectively deploy resources and manage multiple projects of various diverse scopes in a cross-functional environment.

  • Advanced knowledge of UKG (formerly UltiPro) or other HRIS

  • Experience with Tableau or other data visualization software
