The U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) Manager, People Experience & Change Management in Rockville, Maryland
Summary of the Position
The Manager, People Experience & Change Management will support the implementation of initiatives for people experience and develop and implement end-to-end change management for projects impacting the people experience. People experience includes employee engagement, feedback strategies and tools, and Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (DIB), which is a critical organizational imperative for USP. This position will also be responsible for developing and executing change communication and engagement strategies, as well as designing and managing change resources and materials.
The successful candidate will be able to propose solutions that impact people and organizational processes and will collaborate closely with global HR leadership, the global HR Business Partner team and business leaders. The candidate will also be a strong writer and have the ability to think systemically, work strategically and communicate effectively to support change readiness and culture integration. The role will report to the Senior Manager, People Experience & Change Management.
Roles and Responsibilities
Partner with People Experience and DIB leaders to support staff engagement and DIB initiatives, including the Affinity network. This includes project management, process development, communication and other support, as needed.
Provide change management project and methodology support for organizational and key stakeholders. Apply change methodology to support the management and implementation of designated projects and materials. In particular, help to manage, execute and continuously improve an organizational change management plan that supports the vision for high priority projects.
Work with Senior Manager and internal partners to diagnose organizational factors and assess change impacts and change readiness. This effort includes factors such as processes, structure, information flow, feedback loops, people systems and decision making.
Support the integration of change readiness activities within the organizational culture plan. Develop and execute change communications and engagement strategies, as well as mobilizing a change network, when necessary.
Support engagement of leaders and senior management in the change process.
- Bachelor’s degree with concentration in a Business, Human Resources or Project Management related discipline (not exclusive) or related or significant experience in change management, people experience, DIB or project management role
Preferred Qualifications/Desirable Requirements
Minimum of five years demonstrated experience in successfully implementing projects through executing detailed project plans
Demonstrated ability to develop strong business acumen for process changes
Possesses knowledge and experience in user experience testing and training strategies
Ability to learn quickly, creating internal partnerships, promoting collaboration and recommending strategies that fit the people experience, DIB and business models
Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy to understand business terms to all levels of management including senior leaders
Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities with high attention to detail
Possesses strong analytical skills, good listening skills with ability to effectively coach and mentor others
Must be able to lead by influence
Ability to make decisions at the project team level and properly escalate those decisions that cannot be resolved on a timely basis
