Summary of the Position
The Senior Marketing Manager, Clinical Programs will be responsible for planning and execution for key programs, products and solutions to support the success and sustainability of the Healthcare, Quality & Safety Center of Excellence (HQS). HQS enables USP to deliver quality standards and solutions that meet the needs of healthcare professionals to improve quality, patient safety and/or access. Responsibilities include understanding stakeholder needs to drive awareness and usage of HQS standards, products and solutions. This includes outlining goals, objectives and plans for key programs including strategic analysis, rationale and insight and presenting to USP leadership, expert volunteers and cross-functional teams as needed. This role is responsible for the growth and development of key strategic initiatives including Global Growth, Digital Platforms and Education and will lead related advocacy and capability building efforts such as communications, partnerships, conferences, forums, and informational material (e.g., webinars, white papers, infographics, etc.).
Additionally, the Senior Marketing Manager will need to demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with internal HQS team members and support functions (e.g., digital and innovation, global communications, global stakeholder engagement, strategic insights, legal, finance, regions, etc.) to maximize public health impact. The role will also lead engagement with external stakeholder organizations and experts (trade/healthcare practitioner organizations, patient advocacy groups, knowledge vendors, etc.). This position requires strong strategic thinking and analysis, operational experience, project management, and communication skills to coordinate and facilitate the programs related to the above. This is an individual contributor position reporting to the Vice President of the Healthcare, Quality & Safety Center of Excellence.
Roles and Responsibilities
Facilitate key program planning and project completion against goals, objectives and success metrics to gauge success of programs in terms of revenue and public health impact.
Provide input on strategic plans in understanding the needs of global stakeholders, current awareness and use of HQS standards, and new business development opportunities that drive growth.
Coordinate internal and external research in collaboration with strategic insights and analytics team on product analysis, competitive analysis, and business case development.
Drive awareness, adoption, and usage of HQS standards, products and solutions through marketing communications and related support materials. Develop communication strategies to engage current and new stakeholders.
Drive HQS stakeholder outreach, engagement and collaboration goals with HCP organizations and other key stakeholders including stakeholder forums, communications, education course development and HI&T solutions.
Work with third party vendors on planning, design and implementation of education and communication campaigns.
Works with cross-functional teams (e.g. science, global communications, global stakeholder engagement, legal, finance) to deliver results.
Proactively identify and monitor key market trends and potential impact on HQS standards and solutions.
Identify opportunities for external presentations by USP staff or expert volunteers on HQS standards.
Serve as a USP representative to professional organizations, stakeholder events and meetings.
Senior Marketing Manager, Clinical Programs:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Life Sciences or Business
Advanced Degree is a plus (e.g. MBA, PharmD)
Eight (8) years of experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
Five (5) years of experience in marketing or business in pharmaceutical, health, non-profit or consumer industry
3 years of people manager experience
Strong strategic thought leadership, analytical skills, project management skills as well as experience overseeing multiple programs and/or product portfolios.
Knowledge of USP standards, regulatory agencies, global regulatory frameworks, and/or NGOs is preferred.
Experience managing budgets, financial/revenue targets and related dashboards and KPIs.
Experience in leading and evaluating market trends, market research and data analytics.
Experience overseeing education and training programs for healthcare professionals is a plus.
Experience with digital marketing, healthcare information & technology systems and tools is a plus.
Well-developed organizational, interpersonal communications, negotiation, writing, attention to detail, and strong listening skills. Results driven with demonstrated successful outcomes.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Marketing automation and Customer Relationship Management tools (e.g. Salesforce, Pardot and Tableau).
Familiarity with key pharmacy/professional organizations (e.g. ASHP, APhA, NABP, other) is a plus.
