Summary of the Position
The USP Healthcare Quality & Safety program provides science-based standards and services that create an informed healthcare environment, helping to ensure accessibility and safe use of quality medicines for patients and healthcare workers. We are currently seeking a Sr. Product Manager to join the team in support of our goals. This is a non-supervisory professional position responsible for supporting the execution of the USP Healthcare Quality & Safety (HQS) annual plans and reporting to the Strategic Marketing and Program Operations Marketing Director. The incumbent in this role will be responsible for activities that facilitate the development, promotion and marketing of products for HQS across broad public health areas of impact including a focus on digital relevancy and growth of the HQS portfolio. Responsibilities includes collaboration on the USP Health Information Technology (HI&T) pipeline and HI&T Stakeholder engagement activities. The Sr. Product Manager is responsible for supporting products such as USP standards, mobile applications, database products, and API products. The Product Manager will represent USP with key stakeholders and partners to HQS including healthcare professional associations, standard setting organizations, government agencies, digital and data information partners for the advancement of Program Unit Team goals. The incumbent collaborates with internal departments such as science, documentary standards, publications, IT, finance, R&I and others to achieve business goals.
Roles and Responsibilities
Support current plans and activities for HQS existing standards portfolio, programs and applications including compounding and other public health impact areas.
Executes HQS projects related to product pipeline for pharmacists/healthcare providers. including potential digital solutions & health informatics as well as related HI&T solutions.
Responsible for product forecast, pricing and product financial activities.
Develops comprehensive project plans with internal and external partners ensuring alignment and partnership with interdisciplinary program unit team as well as efficient execution.
In collaboration with Marketing Director, launches, promotes and markets USP solutions to increase public health impact, evolve USP / HQS brand awareness and expand market adoption of priority USP/HQS Standards.
Successfully collects, analyzes and translates data by developing systematic methods to obtain, qualify and quantify customer, stakeholder and market feedback into meaningful solutions.
Identifies opportunities for prospective novel/new products associated with new USP standards.
Effectively engages and leverages scientific and clinical milieu for effective product creation and deployment.
Successfully deploys and manages the HQS Digital Solutions & Health Informatics Portfolio, prioritizing and managing product lifecycle(s) based on market dynamics and customer needs.
Defines, manages and supports the use of the evolving HQS customer database.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Timely contribution to initiatives and team efforts by meeting project, platform and team goals.
Bachelor’s degree in Business or healthcare related field
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in marketing and/or product management in the healthcare, health informatics, or digital industry
Senior Product Manager:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or healthcare related field
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in marketing and/or product management in the healthcare, health informatics, or digital industry
Prior experience in product development in scientific or healthcare industry.
Demonstrated success in project planning; project management and launch of customer-focused digital or health products and services.
Preferred experience in computer informatics, health informatics or other relevant field.
Advanced Degree preferred (Pharm.D., R.N., M.P.H. P.R.N., M.Ed., HI&T/Digital Solutions)
Must possess strong Digital Solutions and Health Information Technology acumen, product development and management proficiency.
Must possess solid marketing skills capable of identifying, analyzing, understanding and applying insights from customer requirements, competitive analysis, market dynamics to create market readiness and launch new products
Experience engaging with interdisciplinary teams for program strategy development, resource allocation, and customer engagement
Experience leading multiple, complex, cross-functional projects; ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; proven strong project management skills
Ability to influence without direct authority, including vendor management
Results driven with demonstrated successful outcomes
Experience working with external healthcare stakeholders, demonstrated scientific and healthcare acumen
Ability and desire to work well with diverse employees and customers in a cooperative and friendly manner
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, able to prepare and deliver presentations; proficient in the use of Microsoft software (word processing, email, spreadsheet, database, and Internet)
Able to work flexible hours when needed
