Summary of the Position
Supervisor, Credit Application is a people manager role that reports to the Manager, Credit and Collections. This position is responsible for overseeing the entire cash applications process with the mindset and ability to identify and implement process improvements. The Cash Application Supervisor will also establish an optimally automated workflow, which includes working with the lockbox, so the match rate has a high success rate. With strong leadership skills, this role with oversee the Cash Application team and the overall talent development and management.
Roles and Responsibilities
Ensures that cash is applied in a time sensitive manner and looks for ways for continuous improvement.
Analyzes and reviews the application method looking for opportunities for increased productivity.
Works closely with Credit & Collections team to proactively resolve unidentified, over and short payments.
Collaborates with A/R, Customer Service, and Strategic Customer Development Managers to identify, analyze and resolve pain points for trouble accounts. Escalates issues as required.
Develop and achieve KPI’s for financial and operational performance.
Project lead for all assignments related to Cash Application.
Leads staff development efforts within the Cash Applications area.
Serves as a liaison between departments to resolve problems and supports process improvements.
Adheres to Global Finance Cultural Statement & Operating Principles at all times.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor degree in Business, Accounting or relevant field required
5 years of progressive Cash Application experience and at least three years of leading Cash Application projects and team members
Demonstrated experience with lock box automation and optimization
Preferred Qualificatio ns
Experience performing AR/Cash Application functions for a global organization
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
ERP experience using financial applications
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of financing tools (letters of credit and bank guarantees a plus
Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
The ability to influence without direct authority
Results driven with demonstrated successful outcomes
Ability and desire to work well with diverse employees and customers in a cooperative and friendly manner
