The U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) Senior Strategic Customer Development Manager, South Korea in Seoul, South Korea

Description

This role will be responsible for all Customer Development activities primarily in South Korea. This role will work with the General Manager / SCD Lead and other relevant RPO staff to help develop and implement strategic sales plans and performance goals with the objective of market growth and utilization of USP’s standards in South Korea. This position will coordinate and manage USP projects and services to support strategic initiatives and work closely with other marketing, scientific, and external affairs staff to identify product enhancements and new service offerings. The role is that of an individual contributor and is based in South Korea.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and strengthen existing customer relationships and develop new potential customer relationships. Ensure a consistent, strong sales pipeline and maintain a healthy prospect list.

  • Develop and implement engagement strategies to increase USP’s account penetration. Understand how the customers use USP products and identify areas for potential new business.

  • Works with General Manager, SCD Lead APAC and Management in analyzing data, preparing reports on sales trends for USP and competitor products, and make recommendations on business impact and directions.

  • Provides scientific and / or scientific resource experts (i.e. Reference Standard Technical dept, Scientific Liaisons), technical and marketing support to customers and to relevant departments within USP.

  • Identify companies willing to work with USP on new monographs, monograph improvement and bulk material.

  • Working with authorized distributors in South Korea to develop account specific plans and performance targets. Performs quarterly financial reviews of overall performance and performance against revenue and units targets and other pre-determined KPIs.

  • Organizes and conducts User Forums, face-to-face customer visits and USP trade shows to educate customers and to promote USP reference standards, publications, and education products.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related science field required.

  • A minimum of 7 years of successful sales and account management experience in the Pharmaceutical / Biopharm industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Scientific background / understanding of Pharmaceutical Science / Biologics coupled with successful sales track record strongly preferred.

  • Able to have a strategic perspective with attention to details.

  • The ability to influence without direct authority.

  • Results driven with demonstrated successful outcomes.

  • Ability and desire to work well with diverse employees and customers in a cooperative and friendly manner.

  • Agility to focus on priorities while handling uncertainties in a fast paced environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
