The U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) Senior Manager, USP Education Programs in Serilingampally Mandal, Ranga Reddy District, India


Summary of the Position

This is a supervisory, professional position responsible for organizing and conducting USP Education programs in the

South Asia region. The incumbent will be responsible to organize educational programs, user forums, and workshops across all the program units in USP, Chemical Medicines, Biologics, Foods & Dietary Supplements. The incumbent will also develop one-to-one relationships with technical as well as learning & developments heads of major key accounts as well as strengthen relations with academic institutions in the region. This position is responsible for the successful implementation of the learning management systems to customers and find out new business & customer development opportunity while continuously growing the existing business and relationships. The incumbent will work with the Director, SCD and other relevant SMEA / RPO staff to help develop and implement strategic education programs for assigned territory and performance goals. The incumbent is expected to advocate and promote USP’s mission, products and services, communicate & update Industry requirement on education activities.

Roles and Responsibilities

USP Education

  • Lead the USP Education programs in South Asia with aim to retain the leader status in the category.

  • Identify Education Needs & develop Course Calendar. Coordinate of educational programs tailored to industry needs.

  • Identify Faculty, coordinate faculty training. Costing & fixing of Course Fee. Approve the discount/s to the participants, if any. Share participant feed-back & request changes if necessary. Approve Venue & collaborators, if any.

  • Launch and maintain South Asia’s Learning Management System Education website delivering USP Education Courses to manage end to end process of all education courses

  • Prepare & send notices to participants for Education courses.

  • Register participants and ensure payment receipt. Arrange for invoices & certificates.

  • Arrange for course material from faculty & give it to participants. Maintain the Education course feedback forms and data.

  • Travel along with faculty and coordinate for public or onsite education courses.

  • Establish contacts with HR department and Technical Heads of pharma companies.

  • Maximize attendance and generate revenue from USP Education courses as per the assigned targets.

  • Responsible for all the USP Education reports etc.

  • Costing & fixing of course fee based on pricing schedule. Work with impact pricing team to a approve the discount/s to the participants, if any.

  • Share participant feed-back & request changes if necessary.

  • Approve Venue & collaborators, if any.

Course & Faculty Development

  • Co-ordinate with US Education department for course content, Faculties and other organizational requirements related to USP Education Programs.

  • Identify needs for new Faculty, coordinate faculty training, and work with India Science team & US Education team and course owners to qualify new faculty and teach at least one program in fiscal

Workshops & User forums

  • Organize workshops for South Asia Regions as per the calendar

  • Attend Trade Shows as when required and requested.

  • Take care for stall design and other requirements for stall if needed.

  • Support User forums done through online platforms

  • Create sessions in Webex for Online courses / Live Webinar.

  • Ensure to share the links with participants, track attendance during the course, conduct faculty test runs for seamless course delivery, screen, and slide control during the session for speaker, moderate the sessions by running the questions to speakers, copy questions for FAQs and question banks, develop soft copy of the certificate to be sent with feedback links.

Learning Management Systems ( LMS)

  • To promote USP education programs through LMS for managing end – end USP education courses.

  • Use new LMS as a platform for communicating and promoting all our upcoming and popular courses, including the new ones.

  • Increase our customer outreach through education and training, improve customer interaction, address performance, bridge knowledge gaps and provide timely feedback to participants through LMS

  • To enable customers to directly pay for the courses at the time of registration and download the invoices as and when required

  • launch USP’s On-demand courses on this LMS for South Asia customers

People Management and Leadership

  • Recruit, train, support, mentor and develop talent/team while driving results for the organization.

  • Create metrics, measure and report periodically report progress on customer development activities undertaken by the team, from lead generation to product/service usage, to drive efficiencies and ROI on all resources.

  • Collaborate extensively and closely with the functions, within the RPO- South Asia team in , namely – the Scientific Affairs, the External Affairs function and LSP ( SI & Analytics ) function.

Basic Qualification :

  • Bachelor’s Degree/ Master’s degree in any stream is preferred.

  • A minimum of 12-15 years of successful experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology industries in the Learning & Development and Training departments

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Learning management system

Experience and ability to collaborate extensively internally across various functions, within the region and with the global headquarters, in a highly technical environment.

  • Experience and ability to build strong relationships with industry and stakeholders.

  • Ability to travel extensively for USP education related events.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Lead a team of two persons (Associate Manager, Education & SWS and Education Coordinator – Intern).
