Brief Job Overview

This is supervisory position responsible to Plan, Implement, and Coordinate the Policies and Procedures surrounding the Security, Incident Management & Business Continuity of facilities & personnel of USP India. A role where proactiveness is a key requirement and incumbent is expected to handle Security related requirements for India Sites in coordination with Global Security. The incumbent will be also responsible for driving various initiatives on Security, Incident Management & Business Continuity for the organization.

How will YOU create an impact here at USP?

  • Handling day-to-day operations from Security aspects for all India sites.

  • Monitoring global security information reports from various vendors, acting upon possible threats and sharing with USP staff as applicable

  • Working closely with the Director of Global Security (US based) to standardize security practices and share information.

  • Assessing, developing, and implementing security protocols and timely measuring effectiveness of service deliverables.

  • Coordinate with Global Security staff to ensure the laid procedures are effective and according to standards desired for.

  • Monitoring movement of staff and assets at all India sites and within India.

  • Close monitoring of expat and domestic visitor movement, employee, and contract staff movement to provide proactive security advice alert and minimize risk.

  • To develop and implement proactive plans and procedures for:

  • Physical security of staff, assets, reputation, and business continuity

  • Incident response and management

  • Business continuity plans and management

  • Security staff and USP staff training cycle

  • Tracking of geo/political/natural calamities/other critical situations to ensure smooth business operations continuity and safety of employees and assets. Also sharing situation reports / updates to relevant stakeholders when applicable.

  • To supervise security function, IBMS and Staff Bus transport movement regularly.

  • Access Control for Sites: Plan, Implement, and Coordinate the Policies and Procedures related to issuance of ID cards & Access Control Cards to staff and close monitoring the effectiveness of the implemented procedures.

  • Monitoring early log-in & late log-off of the staff working at office/facility.

  • Monitoring escort support to women staff especially during odd working operations hours.

  • Monitoring contract labour compliance is maintained from time to time.

  • Preparing various security reports and for presenting it to leadership team from time to time.

  • Event management: Onsite events like Independence Day, Republic Day, Administration Professional Day, Open day, Science day/Workshops are organized at the site successfully and supporting HR Team on other events conducted at the facility.

  • To work on ISO / IS or other accredited standard procedures.

  • To collaborate with other functions / departments for smooth business operations.

  • Encourage self-development for practical approach, continuous knowledge gaining through external training & seminars.

  • Networking with other security professionals individually and within organizations (such as OSAC) to improve professional and threat knowledge.

Who USP is Looking For?

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of our mission, commitment to excellence through inclusive and equitable behaviors and practices, ability to quickly build credibility with stakeholders, along with the following competencies and experience:

  • Minimum 12 Years of experience in Security field. Prior experience from Pharmaceutical/ Chemical manufacturing / R&D facilities is desirable.

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with having Post Graduation will be an added advantage.

  • Pharma GMP/QMS Exposures and experience will be an added advantage.

  • Experience in ISO Certifications

  • Self motivated, result oriented, collaborative, team player and should have ability to multitask.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience at supervisory level.

  • Should be familiar with Security Standard including Global standards.

  • Experience in Incident Management and Business Continuity Planning.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

  • Able to work flexible hours when needed. In addition to normal business hours serves on the Emergency Response Team to provide 24 hour a day, 7 days a week response to emergency alarm calls and can be available on short notice to support requests during unusual hours, especially early or late in the day during the business week.

Supervisory Responsibilities

No On-Role Staff. However, this position will have Security Officer/Security Supervisor reporting into.
